The Archaeological Digs have uncovred Peter’s house in Capernaum, on the shore of the sea of galilee. This house had an open place in front and a synagogue 90 feet away just like the Gospels described. Thishouse was discovered under a Bysantine Church built in the 4th century. The house has artifacts that date back to the 1st century and the house was converted to a Church House, it had a thatched roof and thinner walls as residences had in that day. Jesus would frequently heal those that came and waited in the front yard and remember the man that was let down through the roof and was healed. The meeting room of the house didn’t contain any of the normal houehold items of that day. According to the excavators the walls contained Christian Graffity in Aramaic, Greek, Syraic and Latin , mentioning the names LORD Jesus Christ, Peter along with Symbols of the cross and the names of other Pilgrims. A total of 196 pieces of graffity with the names has been identified, the graffity apears to have beeen done in the 2nd CenturyThe house has an early tradittion as being the house of Peter by Egeria, in the 4th Century who confirmed a portion of the hoise had been turned into a church and ancient writtings have confirmed that a group of Christians had lived in Caperneum in the first Century, including Rabbinical and the writtings o9f Josephus. So in summation you have a house from the first Century, that had a large open spacee in front, close to a synagogue, that had a portion of the house turned into a house church ( necessary as the Pharisees and other religious were still trying to wipe out Christianity) with a thatched roof and graffity on the walls about Jesus the Christ, Peter and othe Saints, this fits the Biblical narrative exactly as the Bible states, this excavation is just another piece of pysical evidence of the Bibl’es validty, God’s word is just total truth, s Jesus said my words are spirit and truth.
To all belieevrs take heart as these excavations appear they all confirm th Bible story of what happened, for those that don’t believe that Jesus was and is the Messiah, the pysical evidence is becoming so prevalent that you need to check out things for yourselves. The Bible will stand up to open scrutinity and the end game of the decisions made here and now have drastic eternal consequences, both ways good and bad.
