Pentecost the 4th Fiest

The word Pentecost means 50, that is also the year of Jubilee, When Jesus had his deciples gathered on the mount of Olives, he instructed them to wait until they were given power from on High, (Acts 2 verses 8-10). Right after those instructions they watched as Jesus ascended to Heaven, they then went back to Jerusalem and all of them and many more including Mary Magdala. Peter counted 120 people in the upper room that were in constant prayer and all wanted the manifest pesence of the LORD, missing was Judas Iscariot and they drew lots to replace him, but God had chosen Paul as the replacement. At the end of the fifty days, the Holy Spirit came down upon them all with what appeared to be fire on their head and they spake in many different tongues, remember the blackend rocks on Mount Sinai, God is a mighty God. The Jews that were assembled from all over the world for Pentecost, ( this is one of the three commanded observances of all Jewish Males) couldn’t understand what was happening as these illiterate people

were speaking in the language they came from, praising God in their home language. They tried to understand it by accusing them of being drunk, now how does that make any sense an illiterate drunk speaking in a language he has probably never even heard of. Peter explained to them that this was fullfillment of prophesy from Joel and other prophets, as is always the case, some accepted it and some didn’t but the fact remains it is God pouring out his spirit to empower them for service. When you see a new convert come out of the water (during his babtism ) and see the Holy Spirit rest on his head, that is God anointing that person for a special service in his kingdom. You see when Jesus came out of the water, a voice from heaven said to hear him for this is my son, hear him, while the Holy Spirit rested on his head and was he ever empowered. The Holy Spirits outpouring during the Charismatic movement in the middle nineties, proves he is still working changing lives. This blessing is and always will be available to those that seek him diligently and want him more than life.

There is much more about why they were gathered from all over the world, this will be discussed in an upcoming blog and there is a tremendous amount of Archaeological evidence yet to come and the discoveries just prove beyond a doubt, the validity of what the scriptures have recorded
