Through the course of history, many Nations have used Crucifxion as a punishment for actions and as a deterrent against crime and the Romans had perfected it to a science. They used it to not only kill the person, they used it to humiliate the person, this was done through a public Crucifxion, observed by amultitude of people. When Jesus was crucifxied, he knew what was coming , because Elijah and Moses were sent to inform him on the Mount of transfiguration and he had the power to stop it at any time,(no you not that I can call on legions of Angels). Jesu knew what nwas coming and because he loved us so much, he went ahead and subdued his flesh. If that doesn’t make you love him what will. He told Pilate that you would have no power over me, unless it was given to you from above. after being sent back to Caiphas (the High Priest )and back to Pilate, Pilate washed his hands and declared him innocent (a perfect Lamb) and stated he was not responsible for the blood of this man. Pilate then gave him to the soldiers that flogged him 39 times with (probably) a flagon , a whip withy three fingers that most of the time had lead balls in the tip ( many would die just from this flogging. The solduers then stripped him of his clothes and began to beat him , prophesy, who hit you now, they placed a crown made from thorns on his head, pulled out some beard from his face, put a robe on him as they mocked him continually . if that doesn’t make you love this God man, what will, for he loves you and did this so you can live. After this they sent him out to be crucifxied. Jesus was so drained of strenght that they enlisted a Cyrene named Simon to carry the cross beam. Upon arriving at the site they then stripped him of his robe, laid him on the cross and drove 4 and a half long spikes into his wrists (right above the hands) and through his feet to suspend him on the cross. do you see the picture, hanging naked before a multitude of people with a crown of thorns and a bloody back from the flogging, bruised and boloody disfigured face from the beating, with the Roman Soldiers still mocking him, saying if you are the King of the Jews , come down from the cross. He is on the cross dying and his concern was for his Mother, Mother see your son (John) John behold your Mother. Talk about a great love for others, how could we not love him? Then there was a major earthquake and it became very dark, Jesus cried out my God my God, why have you forsaken me,. you see the Father could not look upon the terrible sins of Mankind that were being transferred onto Jesus. Behold the Lamb, slain from the foundation of the Earth, Son of God Crucifxied, behold the Lamb, behol;d the Lamb. This where many of the Roman Soldiers said truly this was the son of God
When people tell me that God is a God of love and I live a good life, he won’t judge me harsly, wow what a deception they walk in, if that were true then Jesus would not have needed to take your sins on the cross, others have said we need to live under a law, more deception from the pit, if the law were able to make you fit for heaven, again why would Jesus leave the glories of Heaven to walk the dusty streets of Israel teaching the will of the Father and doing many miracles to prove he is the Messiah. The Messiah was promised in over three hundred versus, by multiple (different) prophets all over four hundred years before his Earthly Birth. and all fullfilled to the letter of the prophesie. Any one that really sees the love that Jesus had, to go through this and willingly, and knowing he could stop it at anytime. How can anyone not respond to a love like that and want to know him better, a total mystery to me. Accepting Jesus sacrifice does more than make you a citizen of Heaven, he will walk with you and be closer than a Brother, guide your life here and if you are willing, he will prepare you for a eternity of bliss. Father God made a way and there is no other way. If you don’t know him through the born again ex[perience just ask him to show you the true and only way.
