The world is turned off by religion and rightly so, religion is man trying to make himself good enough for heaven and judaisim, Islam and the off branch of the Samaritans are all based on doing more, climbing the stairs to Heaven. Judaism was a direct religion from God but no man could do the law requiered, so God sent his son to die for our sins and replace our inability to live a sin free life.If you are born again, Jesus gave us direct access to the Holy of Holies through his sacrifice and created the only way to get right with God. You see being born again gives you a totally differen spirit, you start to see the world as God’s creation begin to love people like the son, as he said no greater love than to give your life for those you don’t even know and that is exactly what he did. It is unfathomable that the majority of people don’t accept the greatest gift ever offered to mankind but there are some,looks more like many, that would rather try to save their life her and give up eternal life, lived in joy unspeakable for ever and ever, that is the promoise, not wealth, prosperity, lots of everything, the promise is eternal life and a relationship with the Father God, in this life and the life to come.
Back to the religion part, the Samaritans did what the judaism required, they kept the fiest, they worshiped on the wrong mountain, Gerisim and built a Temple there. The Jews had a big dislike for them because they had changed some wording in the Torah to make it the way they wanted it, and considered their worship to be a false worship, no wonder Jesus told the woman at Jacob’s well, you don’t know what you are worshipping, that applies to all the religions in practise today., if you are not worshipping God, throught his son, then you don’t know what you are worshipping, and the desire to worship has been placed into all mankind. The Jewish practice is from God even though they can’t do what is requiered, religion that is based on works becomes a religion that gets more severe towards any that don’t adhere to there defination of right and wrong, as man tries to get to Heaven, he becomes more and more demanding, even ending up disposing of any one that doesn’t conform ” not God’s way” he is the judge and he will repay. Jesus was the perfect sinless sacrifice and there was no other way to make man right with God and there still is no other way
